Exposed V 8.25 x 7.25 x 1 inches, Loom Woven Cotton, Tile Spacers, 2022

The Exposed series transforms discarded construction materials from rebuilding my home, lost in the 2018 Woolsey Fire, into dynamic mixed-media works. By weaving pallet ties into deck waterproofing, I reveal the hidden beauty of structural grids that echo my textile practice. These pieces document the rebuilding process while symbolizing renewal—materials once meant to be concealed now take on new meaning. Through this reimagining, I weave a personal history from the remnants of loss, bridging past and present through tactile exploration.
